Easy Reheat

As I have been posting, this Thanksgiving I made our meal the weekend before.  I wanted to take the long Thanksgiving weekend off without spending hours and hours in the kitchen.

The weekend before I made our turkey (described in an earlier post), stuffing, green beans, sweet potatoes (described here), and cleaned and cut up veggies and made some ranch dip.  Everything but the veggies and dip went into separate containers and straight into the freezer.

The Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving, I got everything out of the freezer and put into the refrigerator for defrosting.

Because we like to have an afternoon meal, Thanksgiving morning first thing, I put the turkey into the slow cooker and turned on high.  It was still a bit frozen.

A couple of hours before we wanted to eat, I put on the sweet potatoes, green beans, and stuffing.  They were more defrosted, smaller quantities, and took less time to heat through.

It all turned out GREAT!  It was liked I had just made the meal Thanksgiving Day, but I didn't have to spend all day in the kitchen!  I will definitely do this again.
