Full of Flavor Turkey Burgers

I've always liked turkey burgers, but recently I found I LOVE turkey burgers with flavor. So far, my favorites are Grilled Honey Mustard Turkey Oat Burgers and Asian-Spiced Turkey Burgers.

I was lucky to find ground turkey on sale last week, so I picked up two packages. I made one batch of each type of burgers on my George Foreman Grill.

Five is the suggested amount of burgers in each recipe, but I got 8 out of each batch. I grilled them all up, then put in quart-sized Ziploc bags, one of each kind labeled with each type of burger and put them in the freezer.

In the photo above you can see behind my George Foreman grill, there is my line-up of mini crock pots. Since I just cook for myself most meals, what I will do with these burgers is to put one straight from the freezer in a mini crock pot about an hour or so before I want to eat it. It will be defrosted and warmed.

If I were to feed a family or my daycare toddlers, I would put as many frozen burgers as I needed in the crockpot for two or three hours. You could easily defrost and warm in the microwave, too.

Recently I had an Asian-Spiced burger on a Sandwich Thin with a squirt of ketchup, then Broccoli Slaw (available in the packaged salad department in the grocery store) with Newman's Own Low Fat Sesame Ginger Dressing. It was so delicious and only 6 Weight Watcher's POINTS for the whole meal!

Those look yummy Pamm! How do you like that GF grill? I've thought about getting one but I'd have to get the large one for our family, and the cost always turns me off. I *think* I would grill the heck out of some meat if I had one of those lying around. What do you think, is it worth the investment?

Well, we started with just a 2-patty grill that was hard to clean. The one in the picture is newer to us. The biggest change is the plates come off and can be put in the dishwasher! We also do not have an outdoor grill. And, lets face it, everything tastes better with grill marks :).

I think I go through waves of using it and waves of it just sitting there. Yes, it's pricey, but I do think it's worth it. If you have an outdoor grill or if you have a grill pan or something, then I would think a GF grill would not be a good investment.

Since it's just hubby and me, the small one is fine. Back when we had kids at home, a larger one would be much better.

I would suggest looking in thrift stores, on Craigslist, Freecycle, and even looking for a good sale on one if you really want one--perhaps a good item for a Black Friday sale?
