Tomato Caprese Salad


I haven't made this in a long time, but when the grape tomatoes went on sale, I thought I would make it again.

Tomato Caprese Salad
2 pints grape tomatoes, cut in half
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon onion flakes
1 teaspoon garlic salt
Balsamic vinegar

Toss and refrigerate.

The classic way to make this salad is with slices of (regular size) tomatoes, slices of red onion, slices of mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.  I'm not a fan of raw onion and used what was on sale to make my version.

It's a great salad for a change of pace.
