I was looking for a way to serve tuna to the toddlers, but not in sandwich form because toddlers deconstruct sandwiches.
I'm not a tuna eater and don't have experience with any type of tuna salad. I read a few recipes and looked in my pantry and came up with this version:
I'm not a tuna eater and don't have experience with any type of tuna salad. I read a few recipes and looked in my pantry and came up with this version:
1/2 bag of tiny alphabet pasta (I find in the Hispanic section at the grocery store)
1 cup frozen peas & carrots
1 pouch tuna
ranch dressing
Prepare pasta according to package directions and drain. Put in a bowl. Add peas & carrots and tuna. Add enough dressing to hold it together. Toss, chill, and serve.
Since I don't eat tuna, my hubby tried it and said it was good and healthy for the toddlers.
I served half, then put the other half in a Ziploc container and in the freezer. Last week, I defrosted and served it. It held up well in the freezer, but I did add a bit more dressing. Hubby said it was still good. It's a regular on our rotating menus.

A nice recipie for children and grown up ( in a slightly altered version maybe)
Wow, this is the best dressed up tuna I've seen. That's great!!! And your toddlers eat this even? I wish i could get my 6yo to.
This looks so simple! I think my kids would love it! Maybe not just for toddlers?! :) Thanks!
Looks yummy! I think the children will love it!
